CFSA Scholarship and Fellowship Information Sessions

The Center for Fellowship and Scholarship Advising (CFSA) will host information sessions for current undergraduate and graduate students on upcoming scholarship opportunities:

Critical Language Scholarship (CLS): Friday, October 8, 1-2pm via Zoom

CLS is a fully-funded 8-week summer language training course that offers immersive learning environments for languages including Korean, Russian, Arabic, Portuguese, and Urdu (among others). The application are due mid-November and is open to undergraduates and graduate students. Register for the CLS information session here.

Summer STEM Research: Friday, November 5, 1-2pm, location TBD

This presentation, offered in partnership with SU’s Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Engagement (SOURCE), will provide an overview of a variety of funded summer-STEM research opportunities including NSF’s Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program, DAAD-Rise, NIH Summer Internship program and more. Most applications are due December-February and are open to undergraduate students. Register for the Summer STEM Research information session here.

Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Junior Summer Institute: Friday, October 15, 1-2pm via Zoom

PPIA’s Junior Summer Institutes offer a fully-funded, 8-week rigorous academic preparation program for undergraduate juniors committed to public service careers and interested in graduate study. The program is particularly interested in applicants from underrepresented backgrounds. The application is due November 15. Register for the PPIA information session here.

CFSA will also host an information session on the Boren Awards—which offer up to $20,000 for undergraduate study abroad (and $25,000 for graduate students) focused on learning languages critical to U.S. national security—in November, with a specific date and time to be determined.
