Author Shares Stories of Dissident Life

Myroslav Marynovych, Ukrainian survivor of the infamous GULAG, will share his true life experiences with the campus and Syracuse community on Wednesday, September 29th, 4:30-6pm, 500 Hall of Languages. Marynovych will reflect on his life of political opposition, as described in his recently published memoir, The Universe Behind Barbed Wire: Memoirs of a Ukrainian Soviet Dissident. The event includes a lecture followed by Q&A, book signing, and reception. The Honors program is co-hosting the event with the College of Arts & Sciences (Department of Languages, Literatures and Linguistics,) the Maxwell School (Center for European Studies), and the Ukrainian Club at Syracuse University. The book selling has been facilitated through the Syracuse University Bookstore. In compliance with current campus Covid-19 policy, all guests are expected to wear masks.
