Nine Honors Seniors Named 2022 University Scholars

Nine Honors students are among the twelve seniors who have been named as the 2022 Syracuse University Scholars, the highest undergraduate honor that the University bestows.

The Honors seniors include:

  • Erik Bakken, an architecture major in the School of Architecture;
  • Julia Chou, an architecture major in the School of Architecture;
  • Gretchen Coleman, a double major in political science in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affair, and political philosophy in the College of Arts and Sciences;
  • Lindy Melegari, a biomedical engineering major in the College of Engineering and Computer Science;
  • Alexander Metcalf, an aerospace engineering major in the College of Engineering and Computer Science;
  • Ifeyinwa Ojukwu, a psychology and biology major in the College of Arts and Sciences;
  • Salvatore Pepe, a double major in entrepreneurship and emerging enterprises and supply chain management major in the Martin J. Whitman School of Management, and information management and technology major in the School of Information Studies;
  • Sydney Ringel, an inclusive elementary and special education major in the School of Education;
  • Thomas Shaw, a triple major in psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences, history in the Maxwell School, and photojournalism in the Newhouse School.
