BHS Builds Campus & Local Community

The Black Honors Society began its historical presence within the Honors Program with extensive programming during the Fall 2021 semester. Events held included Game Night (with food provided by Winne’s Soul Delicious!), Halloween Karaoke Night, Trick or Treat NYPIRG Food Drive, an Open Discussion on Mental Health, and an Honors Program Information Session for interested applicants.

The purpose of the organization is to promote cultural advancement, to provide professional networking, to celebrate academic excellence, to develop fulfilling mentorships, to encourage community service, and to nurture a sense of emotional support for the persons among the minority student population. Members include: Denise Magny, President; Hailey Williams, VP of Internal Affairs; Kayla Jones, VP of External Affairs; Gabrielle Pinkney, Treasurer; Faith Okoachere, Secretary.
