The Renée Crown University Honors Program is excited to introduce a new Fall 2026 course offering: Reproductive Justice (HNR 360 M005), taught by Professor Olwan.

What does reproductive justice mean—and how can it help shape more just futures?

This interdisciplinary Honors seminar centers feminist, queer, and intersectional perspectives to examine the politics of reproduction. Students will engage with critical scholarship and global perspectives to better understand how reproductive rights and freedoms are shaped by historical, social, and political forces.

The course explores how laws, policies, and systems regulate reproductive capacities, abilities, and access – raising key questions about who is granted the right to reproduce, under what conditions, and with what consequences. Moving between local and global contexts, the seminar also considers the broader stakes of reproductive justice, including its impact on communities, environments, and collective futures.

Designated as an Interdisciplinary, Global, and Social Science Honors course, HNR 360 offers students the opportunity to critically engage with one of the most pressing and evolving issues of our time.
