The Syracuse University Literacy Corps is now accepting applications for Fall 2026.

This is a paid opportunity for undergraduate students to work directly with K–12 students in the Syracuse community, providing literacy support in core subject areas. It’s a strong fit for anyone interested in education, community engagement, or hands-on service work that builds real-world communication and problem-solving skills.

Literacy Corps tutors support students in the Syracuse City School District and nearby community organizations, helping strengthen reading and academic skills in a one-on-one or small group setting.

Position Details

  • Pay: $16/hour
  • Schedule: 8–10 hours per week (in 3-hour blocks, plus travel time)
  • Transportation: Provided
  • Training: Mandatory two-day training
  • Eligibility: SU undergraduate students in good academic standing
  • Federal Work Study: Preferred, but not required
