SOURCE Peer Mentors

SOURCE Peer Mentors (SPMs) support students through the research process, from finding faculty mentors to applying for funding. This also includes assisting with office planning, outreach, assessment, and the SOURCE Ambassadors program. Undergraduate students in their second year or above who have at least two semesters of research experience are encouraged to apply. This is a paid position for the full academic year.

SOURCE Ambassadors

SOURCE Ambassadors are volunteers who help the campus community learn more about the SOURCE and hold interest meetings for students, as well as other forms of outreach. Ambassadors are undergraduate students in their second year or above who have at least one semester of research experience. This position counts towards the CFSA-SOURCE Graduation Cord.

These are paid opportunities to gain experience working on faculty-led research projects. Requirements and qualifications vary by position, so review these pages closely if you are interested!

Music Education- Summer ’26, Fall ’26

Professor David DeAngelis is looking for assistance with research examining demographics of music educators who pursue master’s degrees. This role includes policy research, data collection, organization and verification, and analysis support. Applications are due April 24th, 2026. See the Handshake posting for more information.

Sport Management- Fall ’26

Research Assistants will work with Professor Jeeyoon Kim in examining college sports fandoms and character building through teamwork. This includes assisting with the faculty-led project as well as leading an independent project focused on a specific character strength and its link to sports fandom. Music- Summer ’26, Fall ’26

This project focused on marketing and audience engagement explores civic discourse in choral performance, through the example of We Hold These Truths– a choral performance premiering at SU in November 2026. Professor Wendy Moy is the faculty mentor for this project. RAs will create and manage social media accounts, develop a project website, design promotional materials, and more.
