I worked as an Investments Summer Analyst with Willis Towers Watson this summer in Pittsburgh, PA. This was my first professional internship, as I spent the previous two summers working in professional theatre in Texas and New York. Because of my major and my background, I was extremely nervous to try something new; I love the performing arts and, additionally, have always been really interested in math, macroeconomics, and investments. I wanted to work at a firm that would encourage my experiences in theatre to shine through my work and help develop my technical and soft skills through that unique lens. Because of this internship experience, I am now pursuing a career in consulting and have been inspired to follow the CFA track. I am extremely grateful to have been a part of the WTW team this summer!

I was surprised to discover how much I used my skills and experiences in theatre to set myself up for success at WTW. When I started my internship, I felt a bit out-of-place because my education looked very different than everybody else I worked with. By the end of the summer, I felt very proud of the work that I did technically to rise up to the soft skills that I already possessed to excel in my final presentations and deliverables. I was actually very grateful to have unique educational experiences outside of business and finance to set myself apartment in my work. In the spring of 2025, I will be moving to New York City to continue my work full-time as an Investments Analyst with WTW. I am very thankful to the Renee Crown Honors Program and its donors for making my summer internship possible!
