Survival and Insecurity:
A Personal History of Being Rohingya in Yangon, Myanmar
As a well-educated Rohingya woman whose parents moved to Yangon as children, Kyaw Thein will share her personal story of coming to adulthood in the midst of discrimination and growing anti-Muslim and anti-Rohingya sentiment. The current crisis has led her to explore her family’s history and reflect on her own experiences as she strives to create a future for herself.
