The Work and Family Researchers Network Conference

By: Danielle Lippman, ’19

Attending the Work and Family Researchers Network conference was a really amazing experience. I was there to give a poster present on work I am doing with a graduate student about the Sri Lankan immigrant experience. This grad student, Susima Weerakoon, has become a mentor and friend to me and it was really wonderful to be able to spend some time with her in Washington D.C at this conference. We attended talks, panels, and presentations on topics that ranged from male allyship in the workplace, how to get your research into more mainstream media, and work family balance. I loved learning from so many different people in the field and it was really cool to see what people beyond Syracuse University have been working on in Human Development and Family Science. My first conference was one I’ll never forget! Danielle LIppman standing next to poster at conference
