We are proud to see Honors students Charity Hosler ’27 and Somya Chakraborty ’28 featured in SU Today for their outstanding leadership of the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) at Syracuse University.

As president and vice president of BMES, Charity and Somya are doing far more than leading a student organization, they are connecting their peers to research opportunities, bridging the gap between students and industry professionals, and bringing hands-on STEM education to children across Central New York through the organization’s annual STEM Day.

Work like this reflects exactly what the Honors Program is about – students who go beyond the classroom to make a meaningful impact on their communities and their fields. We are incredibly proud of Charity, Somya, and the entire BMES community for the difference they are making.
