Honors staff members Kate Hanson and Karen Hall have just returned from the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) annual conference, held in Boston this year. Both served as facilitators for workshops, Karen on “Mental Health, Honors and the Three R’s: Resources, Responses and Responsibilities” and Kate on “Experience as Classroom: The Power of Immersive, Contextualized Learning in Honors Education.” Karen also served as a panelist for “Beyond Binary: Interrogating Honors Practices in Light of Gender and Sexual Identity” and Kate was a panelist for a session on “Adaptations of Honors Theses by Discipline.” It was a busy and invigorating conference packed with useful ideas and terrific conversations with Honors colleagues from across the country and world!
