Going to Florence was one of the most incredible experiences I have ever had. Whether I was learning about the city or traveling to new places, I was constantly learning new things and gaining new experiences. Having the ability to learn about the history and culture of Florence was something that will forever change the way that I view the world. As well, the opportunity to immerse myself in another culture was extremely valuable to the way that I view the world. This experience was something that I will cherish forever.

Upon traveling to Florence, I was not expecting the city to be so modern yet historical at the same time. While the architecture and history of the city is so prominent, it is so interesting to see the way that modern technology and life has been integrated into the city as well.

Gaining the experience of cultural immersion has been incredible to both my academic and personal growth. As an Art History minor, I have learned so much about such a historically rich city in a way that few can truly experience. That has been an incredible opportunity that has definitely taught me a lot about art, history, and culture.

While a semester abroad seems like a lot of time, there was still so much more to see and do. After graduation, I hope to travel abroad to further learn about the art and history of Europe.

This grant helped support the financial aspect of study abroad, opening many doors for me to travel and further immerse myself in other cultures. Being able to travel to so many different places was an extraordinary opportunity that I will never forget.
