As a Legal and Compliance Summer Analyst at Rockefeller Capital Management, a financial services firm, I supported the Central Compliance Team. I revised the Code of Ethics and five related compliance policies to reflect the transition between compliance software programs. I authored corporate communications and training materials to educate employees on new and existing compliance responsibilities, including a user manual and video instructions. I also conducted user acceptance testing and data migration to hasten the go-live of the new program. Additionally, I participated in roundtable discussions and coffee chats with senior leaders across the firm, which helped me learn more about the work my compliance duties support. This experience solidified my interest in law and compliance, particularly as it intersects with finance and regulatory enforcement.

I was not expecting to enjoy working at Rockefeller as much as I did. Both of my majors and all three of my minors are in the social sciences, so I was unsure of how I would fare in the financial services sector. However, I soon realized that my background in policy studies directly applies to the policy work that compliance teams do. I learned an incredible amount during my summer at Rockefeller and gained a genuine interest in finance, which I did not expect going into the experience. At the end of my internship, I received a return offer to join Rockefeller full-time as a Compliance Analyst upon graduation. I accepted this offer and will begin in July 2025! I am very excited for this experience and am grateful to Honors for having helped support me in getting it!
