Niki Swackhamer is an Honors Advisor, bringing a rich background in education, admissions, and career services. Originally from Western New York, she previously served in admissions (at Utica University), as a researcher and co-author of a paper in PubMed (while at SUNY Upstate Medical University), and as a career advisor within the College of Visual and Performing Arts here at SU. Niki is pursuing a Master’s in Cultural Foundations of Education and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Disability Studies. As a member of the disability and neurodivergent communities, she focuses her work and research on creating inclusive, accessible environments and DEIA initiatives.
Outside of work, Niki loves spending time with her two dogs, Cain and Harley; her cat Burnie (affectionately known as Burnt Chicken Nugget); and her partner, Ed. An avid reader, camper, and Adirondacks enthusiast, she finds joy in both adventure and fiction of all kinds.
