The School of Education and Falk College are co-teaching a three-credit course next semester! Supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF), EDU/EXE 300 focuses on three basic data science practices: data collection, analysis, and communication. The majority of course activities are hands-on in the new Center for Experiential Pedagogy & Practice, as students learn about basic human stress responses, the instruments used to measure heart rate/variance, respiration, and blood pressure, and basic analyses of these variables.  Students also practice communicating the data they analyzed back to the students (in a parallel course) from whom they originally gathered the raw data.

EDU/EXE 300 is ideal for students working toward STEM or data-intensive professions. It will be offered Spring 2025 on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 8 to 9:20 am in Huntington Hall 103. To reserve your spot, please email Maryann Barker from the School of Education (mabarker@syr.edu), or Janet Baris from Falk College (jbaris@syr.edu).
