Syracuse University News Highlights Honors’ First Assembly of Scholars
The Renée Crown University Honors Program was recently featured in Syracuse University News for launching a new tradition: the first-ever Assembly of Scholars. Held on Sept. 5 in Hendricks Chapel, the event welcomed over 500 Honors students to celebrate the start of the academic year.
The article highlights inspiring remarks from student speakers Chidera Olalere ’26, Katie Rogers ’26, and Nathan Torabi ’26, as well as reflections from Interim Director Laura Machia, Professor Steve Sawyer, and Associate Director Allie Heppner. Together, they emphasized community, opportunity, and the unique paths Honors students take in their academic journeys.
We are proud to see our program recognized and encourage everyone to read the full story on SU News, written by Honors student Charlotte Bingham.
