While studying abroad in London, I gained a whole new sense of independence and personal growth. I was able to travel by myself and meet so many new people from all over the world. Additionally, I was able to learn so much from shadowing West End Stage Managers to interning for a small theatre producing company. Traveling around Europe allowed me to gain a newfound passion for traveling and learning more about different cultures and history. All in all, my experience studying abroad was motivating, inspiring and of course lots of fun!

One thing that surprised me about my experience studying abroad in London was my newfound sense of independence. I learned how to get around the city pretty quickly and became less afraid of asking strangers questions or asking for directions when unsure of things. It allowed me to break out of my shell and talk to so many different people from all over the world, and I was not expecting that. I will be basing my Honors thesis around my new knowledge of how theatre is produced and the difference in the role of a stage manager on UK productions in comparison to USA productions.
