The Crown Award funding made my film possible on a scale that created the best project. I made a film for my thesis and was able to afford top notch actors and homemade food for my crew. I could also afford to have the costumes and set handmade, and to have specifications that made the film possible. I was even able to save enough money to submit the film to festivals for the summer.

While filming I learned how difficult it is to shoot in a custom set, as it was not very big. Not only did framing become an issue, building the set also took an incredible amount of time, but in the end it was absolutely worth it for the gorgeous look of the film.

The film is just about done, though I will be adding a score to it this summer. I have set aside grant money for submission fees to festivals that I will be attending this summer as well. Thank you to Alpha Newbury and Guienevere Turner for helping me make a high-quality project, and to the Renée Crown Honors Program for funding the project!
