During my Spring 2024 semester, I had the special opportunity to go to South Korea as an exchange student for the renowned Ewha Women’s University. Within the University, I was able to meet many international friends and fully immerse myself within the busy metropolis of Seoul. During my time there, I got to learn about the culture norms regarding social hierarchy in terms of age and “quick quick” culture. Furthermore, I also got to experience what an architecture studio class was like in another school, which was felt very special. I also took classes that I usually wouldn’t take at Syracuse, such as Korean ceramics and intensive academic Korean, which was very enriching. Overall, I enjoyed my time there very much, and I plan to study in Florence for the Fall 2024 semester as part of my architecture curriculum.
