Honors Alum Nathan Shearn, a 2020 Fulbright recipient, earned a grant from the U.S. Embassy (affiliated with Minsk State Linguistic University in Belarus) to lead weekly workshops for teachers and professors. Topics included cultural diversity, strategies for different learning styles, and the educational system in the U.S.. Shearn’s original Fulbright appointment was to teach English in Belarus, but the program was suspended due to the pandemic. Shearn, who plans to pursue a Ph.D. in anthropology, was offered a reappointment for the 2021-2022 academic year, and was awarded a Teaching Assistantship in Bulgaria.
