Work with the SOURCE: Applications Open for Peer Mentors and Ambassadors
Students interested in supporting undergraduate research at Syracuse University have an exciting opportunity to get involved with the Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Engagement (the SOURCE). Applications are now open for two student leadership roles beginning in Fall 2026: SOURCE Peer Mentors and SOURCE Ambassadors.
SOURCE Peer Mentors work closely with students who are exploring or actively pursuing research and creative projects. Mentors help peers connect with faculty, navigate funding opportunities, and engage with SOURCE programs and events. Peer Mentors also support outreach initiatives and assist the SOURCE office through weekly desk shifts. This paid role ($16/hour) typically involves about six hours of work per week.
SOURCE Ambassadors represent undergraduate research across campus and help students learn more about opportunities available through the SOURCE. Ambassadors participate in outreach efforts such as class visits, workshops, and information sessions, and serve as advocates for research and creative engagement within the Syracuse community. This volunteer role also counts toward the CFSA-SOURCE Graduation Cord.
Students who are passionate about research, mentorship, and campus engagement are encouraged to apply. Applications for the 2026–2027 academic year are due Thursday, April 9 at 11:59 p.m.
