Gabrielle Pinkney ’24 Named a 2024 VPA Scholar

Gabrielle Pinkney, a senior in the Setnor School of Music, has been named a 2024 VPA Scholar! Often referred to as the highest undergraduate honor in the college, the VPA Scholar Program awards 12 seniors every year based on academic performance and service to the community.

As a music industry major and founder of the Black Honors Society, Gabrielle aspires to amplify marginalized voices in classical music and advocate for artists’ rights as a lawyer. One way that she has already accomplished this is through her Honors project, “This is Our Story, This is Our Song”, an online educational series designed to inform young people on the history of Black and Brown artists in the world of classical music. Gabrielle will be recognized alongside other VPA Scholars at the college’s convocation ceremony this upcoming May. We celebrate and congratulate Gabrielle for all her efforts, and we wish her luck in her future endeavors!
