English and Textual Studies major, Ana Selby (A&S ’15) is using her Crown Wise so that she can work on her novel over the summer, editing the draft she wrote this past summer scene by scene, chapter by chapter, in order to make it the best book it can possibly be. And she has a lot of editing to do because last summer, while working a full time job, she wrote a 300 page draft. Yes, you read that correctly, 300 pages. Her novel, My Story, My Mother’s Story began as a memoir but morphed into a novel fairly early on. Ana “found that writing about [her mother’s] suicide and what I had experienced could be that much richer if I didn’t have to worry about ‘truth.’” We are already anxiously awaiting the novels appearance at a bookstore nearby!
