Biology major, Amanda Catchings (AS ’14), is conducting research which will contribute to a better understanding of cyst breakdown and oocyte development in mammalian organisms, which will, in turn, aid us in better understanding infertility and developing treatments for it. Amanda’s research will also contribute to her hands-on experience as an active member of the scientific community. In the future she aspires “to be involved in a profession that focuses on infertility and genetic disorders; therefore a project such as this which is working so diligently to understand the processes and mechanisms responsible for infertility can only aid me in my future endeavors, as well.”
