If you’d like to learn more about Stephanie Breed (AS ’15), just go read the current profile of this University Scholar. In the interview you’ll find there, Stephanie shares information about her recent internship at the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art.
Stephanie, who also has a minor in entrepreneurship and emerging enterprises in the Whitman School of Management, combined two of her passions through the internship–art and children’s books.
She has woven her passion for children’s books into her civic engagement as well for she is the founder of Books are Food for Thought, a program that provides books to underprivileged children in Central New York. Since its founding in 2008, Books are Food for Thought has delivered more than 20,000 books! Check out the website.
Stephanie’s passions come together in her Capstone as well. She is writing on the illustrations of artist Doré who illustrated “Les Contes de Perrault,” an anthology of children’s stories including Little Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty, and Puss in Boots. Stephanie was able to do some of her research during her internship at the museum, thus bringing everything together!
