Want to teach someone about music (or learning something yourself), then try out the soon to be available app for the iPhone that Crown Wise Award winner, Jamie Yavorsky (VPA ’14) is creating. The app teaches literacy, diversity, and technology in the context of music education. This game-type app will allow users to choose a character, a tour bus, and a primary instrument that they will use to travel the United States and perform concerts in major cities. Each city will be represented by a different type of music: jazz in New York, classical pops in Boston, country in Nashville, Zydeco in New Orleans. One song will represent each city, and users will have to perform that song with accuracy and musicality to earn enough money to move to the next location. Pretty cool, right?
