Build Community, Mentor, and Fulfill the Global Experience Requirement

Boys playing dominoesAre you interested in working with refugees or in community development? Do you enjoy working with teenagers? As a volunteer with the teenager programming at HopePrint, a grassroots organization on the north side of Syracuse, you will fill an essential role in community building and mentorship. Our programming, open to children of refugee and asylum seeker families, as well as all teenagers in the neighborhood, begins on Tuesday evenings with a shared meal at the HopePrint house. Following dinner, volunteers help facilitate a variety of activities depending on weather and interest, including sports, crafts, and group discussions. Volunteers are welcome to take a leading role in organizing weekly programming or simply participate alongside teenaged participants. Most importantly, our volunteers mentor underserved teens finding their way in life and adjusting to life in America.

Please note that while HopePrint programming extends beyond the end Syracuse University’s spring semester, we welcome you to volunteer through June if possible.

Time: Tuesday evenings 6:00-7:45, February 2nd through June
