Let the Show Begin!

Emily O’Hara (AS ’17) volunteered with the Jordan- Elbridge High School Musical Players to help with their spring production of Shrek the Musical. She worked with the costume staff, helped the students do their makeup and hair, and greeted the public at the front door as they went into the building to pick-up or purchase tickets.

A Jordan-Elbridge High School graduate, Emily was highly involved in the musical and drama productions when she was a student. Emily continues to feel great pride in the professionalism of the shows and the acclaim of her alma mater’s music department. Form Emily, “Being able to come back and contribute once again to the experience has been very fulfilling. Working as part of a team to obtain a wonderful production brings about great joy to all who are involved. Volunteering my time to this organization is something I enjoyed doing and will continue to do. Helping to sustain musical programs is important in today’s society as it is known to increase student academic performance. My volunteering has helped sustain this process and allow community members to realize that these performances are not only fun, but also serve a great purpose.”
