Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration

Celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day! We come together to acknowledge the sovereignty and history of indigenous peoples of Turtle Island as well as the traumatic legacy of Christopher Columbus’s actions here. Worker’s Center Volunteer Craft Day

Come join us for a volunteer craft making day at the Workers’ Center!
We are in need of volunteers to help us make things like buttons, mirrors, keychains, banners, etc. and prepare materials for our table at the Wescott Street Fair this September 23rd. Anyone with sewing skills would be especially helpful.

Black Lives Matter – Solidarity with Maleatra

Maleatra was sexually assaulted by a Syracuse Police officer on Valentine’s Day in 2015. She called to report her teenage daughter missing, in return, officer Chester Thompson RAPED her in front of her new born son.
2016, Maleatra filed a suit against Thompson, The SPD & several higher ups. Thompson had a known history of sexual assault but was never investigated or called out by fellow officers. They ignored it to protect a fellow officer.
We ask you to stand with her in solidarity as she fights against this corrupt system. We Demand Justice for Maleatra!

For the fall study group, we are kicking things off with Danny Katch’s book, Socialism … Seriously. We’ll read the Introduction plus Part’s 1 and 2 (which covers Chapters 1-5) . When we come together, we look forward to both discussion and group activities designed to help us put what we are reading into action. Refreshments provided.

27th Annual Westcott Street Fair

The Westcott Street Cultural Fair is an annual celebration of the diversity and uniqueness of the Westcott neighborhood through its culture, arts, food, organizations and activities for families and students. The fair attracts thousands of people to the Westcott Business District for a September day filled with great sounds, sights, tastes and more.
