Quilting for Fun and Community

Jenna Merry stands behind geometrical quilt she made

Jenna Merry joined the fall 2021 Quilting for Fun and Community Honors seminar and completed two infant sized quilts which were donated to a refugee families. “I loved putting my sewing skills to work and my crafting-brain to an activity that I could pass on to someone in need,” Jenna said, “and although my work was not perfect, I know that I made a little difference in a family’s lives. Quilting was something I had never done before and learning that new skill and mastering it in order to benefit someone else’s holidays was so rewarding, and I hope to do something similar (picking up a new hobby that can be donated in a way) in the future.”
