Old school computer font "Have you tried turning it off and on again?" with highly pixelated image of IT Crowd tv show characterStudent customer support positions are available beginning Fall 2019 troubleshooting desktop and laptop hardware and software problems for faculty and staff of the College of Arts & Sciences, working with tech support from vendors such as Dell and Apple, building new systems (Mac and Windows), installing software, hardware upgrades and peripherals,  troubleshooting printing and networking issues and other duties as assigned. An undergrad with Federal work-study grant preferred who can work 10-20 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week in the summer.  Good communication skills and desktop support experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

— Troubleshoot hardware and software problems (desktops and laptops)

— Install software and peripherals

— Configure and install new computers

— Assist full-time staff as needed

Qualifications: Familiarity with Windows and Mac OS, ability to problem-solve, work independently, experience with hardware, printers, software installation and use, familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, good communications skills, ability to learn quickly and desire to work in the computer field.
