SU students with 5th graders

Friday, March 23, 2018

To volunteer please fill out the online form

Shadow Day is an initiative of Seymour Dual Language Academy and SU Community Engagement, to get children thinking about college early. Shadow Day is an opportunity for our SU students to have a fifth grader shadow them for the half of the day to see first-hand what college is about. This year the 20thannual Shadow Day will be held Friday, March 23, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.mIf you are interested in volunteering during the entire time please fill out the online form.

The day will begin at the Maxwell Auditorium.  SU students will arrive before the 5th grade students to receive information on their “Shadow(s)”.  You will meet the students for breakfast upon their arrival.  Admissions will be giving a presentation to the students and then will take them on campus tours, as if they are prospective students.  There will be some time after the Admissions piece for you to spend time with your shadow, whether it is attending a class (or part of one), or further exploring campus on your own.  You will also accompany them to the Schine Student Center for lunch.  Lunch vouchers will be provided.  The students will depart main campus around 12:45 p.m.

Tshirt sizes (on the signup form) are needed by March 5.
