Dean’s Team!

Ibnul Rafi (AS, ’18) had a great experience being part of the Dean’s Team for Opening Weekend in the Fall of 2016.  The Dean’s Team helps the dean of The College of Arts and Sciences with important activities during the year. Members assist with the recruitment and transition of new Arts and Sciences students by e-mailing them during the summer, providing them with registration advice during Opening Weekend, assisting with deadlines throughout the year, and serving as First-Year Forum mentors.

Ibnul got to help new students settle in the University, assist them with their schedules and speak to prospective students and their parents/ guardians about the College of Arts and Sciences.  He was able to interact with people from many different backgrounds which, in turn, helped him understand more about the people around me. It is because of this experience that he feels confident at public speaking and networking with new people.
