Mariann Yip (PC ’14) drew upon the knowledge she gained in her psychology minor when she created her Capstone, “Researching Campaign Materials for Ellie Mia Boutique”. Mariann tested the public relations campaign materials created for the Marshall Street fashion boutique, Ellie Mia. Her advice to you echoes that of many other Honors alums: start early, find a topic about which you feel passionate, and stay committed!<\/p>\n

I have never really found myself to be a procrastinator, but I know that\u2019s not the case for many college students. For an Honors Capstone Project, starting early is key. It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do, but once I found my interest, I started to work. I advise you to create a timeline and deadlines for your project and stick with them as much as you can. Make sure your own deadline is at least a few days or even a week earlier than the deadlines set by the Honors Program. Having that extra time will allow you to put more effort and attention to revisions, which will ultimately make the process go smoother.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Most importantly, focus your Capstone on your passion and major. I\u2019ve come to realize that the more committed you are to your project, the easier your work becomes. Lastly, try to have fun because yes, it\u2019s a lot of work, but in the end, it\u2019s all worth it and you\u2019ll feel relieved and accomplished!<\/p>\n
