Meet your Honors Student Advisory Board!

The Honors Advisory Board is a group of students  who serve as a communication liaison between Honors students and Honors administrators. A major responsibility of the Board is to provide student input for a variety of decisions, from planning events to suggesting ideas for new classes.

Cassidy Snyder – President

Hometown: North Kingstown, RI College: Maxwell | College of Arts & Science

Majors: History and Political Philosophy

On-campus involvement: Phi Sigma Sigma (Social Sorority), Maxwell School History Ambassador, Dean’s Team Peer Mentor and Peer Advisor, and Renee Crown Honors Program Mentor

Career/professional/educational goal: Work in Washington D.C. for a lobbying firm, where I can make an impact in government outside of holding an elected position.

What you love most about being in Honors: Early class registration and more focused, smaller honors classes!

Fun fact: I’ve lived in 3 different states (New York, North Carolina, and Rhode Island)

 

 

 

 


Evan Greenberg – Vice President of Community Engagement

Majors: Political Science, Policy Studies, and Citizenship & Civic Engagement

Minor: Business

On-campus involvement: Resident Advisor, College Democrats, Student Association

Career/professional/educational goal: Go to law school and become a lawyer

What you love most about being in Honors: The variety of honors classes that are offered

Fun fact: I run an annual charity event called Evan and Joshua’s Hot Cocoa Stand which benefits the Pediatric Cancer Foundation

Career/professional/educational goal: To become a Dermatologist

What you love most about being in Honors: The ability to make connections with others students and the amount of opportunities the Honors Program provides.

Majors: Neuroscience and Philosophy

On-campus involvement: Dean’s Team, FYS101 Peer Leader, Alpha Phi Omega, SUNY Upstate Psychiatric Research Lab

Career/professional/educational goal: Medical school to be a neurologist or anesthesiologist.

What you love most about being in Honors: The closeness within the community and the common goals people have to be the best they can be

On-campus involvement: Alpha Phi Omega, The Pre-Law Society (President), Honors Program Mentor, Barnes Center (Aquatics Program Assistant), Psi Chi Psychology Honors Society and Alpha Chi Omega (Alumnae Chair)!

Career/professional/educational goal: Attend law school and become an attorney!

What you love most about being in Honors: I love meeting new people who have similar goals and passions. I have made many close friends in my time with the honors program and I can’t wait to continue making more!
