Thesis Title:

Techniques to Visualize Ciliated Tissue Morphogenesis: An Introduction to Light-Sheet Microscopy

To my PI, Dr. Heidi Hehnly, thank you for the mentorship and guidance you have provided me during this process. You have taught me how to not only be a better scientist but how to also be a better human being. Thank you for pushing my intellectual curiosity further than any academic setting previously has. Finally, thank you for showing me the importance of collaboration and companionship within both the scientific and non-scientific worlds.
To my mentor, Julie Manikas, thank you for all of the support and leadership you have provided during my time in the Hehnly Lab. You have pushed me to think outside of a textbook mindset and make connections across multiple disciplines of work.
To Judy, Abbi, Nikhila, Lindsay, Michael, Peter, Thomas, and Denise, thank you for the support you have provided me, but most importantly thank you for making the Hehnly Lab my second home.
