Thesis Title:
How to Survive the Robot Apocalypse: A Beginner's Guide to AI
We have science fiction to thank for implanting ideas of killer robots and evil AI - as Terminator is widely the first thing people think of when they hear 'artificial intelligence'. While most can discern that a powerful technology as depicted in science fiction movies and novels would be immensely powerful and even destructive to humanity, less common is the takeaway that AI's role can be changed by the actions of players today. By informing non-experts of the challenges in AI integration, this paper encourages readers to participate and help mold the course of technological progress and the consequential social ripple effects.
I must give my utmost gratitude to my thesis advisor, Austin Zwick, for his contributions to this project. My work with you has indisputably been the highlight of my college career, and for this project and our others, I will always be fondly thankful.
