Thesis Title:

Examining the Wealth Trends in Kombewa, Kenya

Alizee Mclorg at her project site in Kenya

The primary purpose of this project was to understand wealth trends in the Kombewa community, which is located in Western Kenya. Measuring wealth is important for understanding the health of a community. Using household asset data, I created three wealth indices and the results indicated that wealth is increasing over time, but some infrastructural changes to sanitation and water access should be improved to increase wealth and health.

For my thesis, I had the privilege of going to Kombewa for two months to help with data management and get a better understanding of the research site. I want to thank the Kombewa team for welcoming me with open arms and for being my trusted co-workers and friends. Thank you to the Crown Wise Fund for making this project possible.
