{"id":45,"date":"2019-01-06T19:07:31","date_gmt":"2019-01-06T19:07:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/honors.syr.edu\/phi-beta-kappa\/?page_id=45"},"modified":"2019-04-08T11:10:21","modified_gmt":"2019-04-08T11:10:21","slug":"selection-process","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/honors.syr.edu\/phi-beta-kappa\/selection-process\/","title":{"rendered":"Selection Process"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Interested in Joining Phi Beta Kappa?<\/h4>\n<p>First, you need to be selected <a href=\"https:\/\/honors.syr.edu\/phi-beta-kappa\/eligibility\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to the eligibility criteria here<\/a>.\u00a0 If you are selected, you will receive an invitation some time in March of your Senior (or Junior) year.\u00a0 The eligibility criteria is determined by your student record in MySlice.\u00a0 There are a few rare circumstances in which eligibility criteria may not be stored in MySlice, and you would like to be considered for Phi Beta Kappa. The most obvious example of this situation is if you believe you meet the standing, GPA, credits, and quantitative requirements, and are fluent in a language other than English, but your language fluency is not reflected anywhere in your student record.
