To qualify for election, you must fulfill the following requirements:<\/p>\n
You must:<\/p>\n

have a major in the College of Arts and Sciences<\/strong>, though you may have majors in non-A&S fields as well.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
\n
have earned a total of at least 90 Arts & Sciences<\/strong> credits (except transfer students, see below);<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
\n
If you have between 90 – 104 credits, you must have a minimum 3.8 cumulative GPA at Syracuse University<\/li>\n
If you have 105 credits or more, you may have a minimum 3.7 cumulative GPA at Syracuse University.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
\n
have studied a foreign language (ancient or modern) through the intermediate level.\u00a0 At Syracuse University, this means satisfying the Liberal Arts Core “Language Skills” Requirement by completing a 4-credit language course numbered 201, or by satisfying one of the “exemptions and alternatives” listed in the College of Arts and Sciences\u00a0Liberal Arts Core Guidebook.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong> (Under Liberal Skills Requirement, see “Language Skills<\/strong>“). Transfer or AP credits can fulfill this requirement<\/em>.\u00a0 We consider bilingual students to have met the language requirement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Demonstrate basic competence in mathematics. At Syracuse University, this means completing the “Quantitative Skills<\/strong>” requirement of the College of Arts and Sciences Liberal Arts Core.\u00a0 (Under Liberal Skills Requirement, see “Quantitative Skills”).<\/strong> Transfer or AP credit can fulfill this requirement<\/em>.\u00a0 (Education majors:\u00a0 We will also accept Mat 117 and 118).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Transfer students may qualify, if they meet the GPA, math and language criteria, and have earned at least 60 credits at SU over at least 4 full-time semesters, and 75% of those credits are in The College of Arts and Sciences.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
