Time Well Spent at the Wildlife Health Center
Keiya Akiyama spent 2 days a week in the Spring of 2017 working at the Janet L. Swanson Wildlife Health Center. He assisted clinical staff and student volunteers from Cornell Vet with basic wildlife patient care and building enrichments for patients.
In the process, he learned about basic histological techniques and radiographic procedures for some avian species as well as a variety of avian disease types.
Keiya believes he truly devoted his energy into volunteering and tried to actively help out others with whatever he was capable of performing.
