Build a Bed for Children in Need with SUVO

Syracuse University Volunteer Organization is hosting a Bed Building event on Friday, February 21st at Skybarn on South Campus! The beds will be donated to Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a non-profit organization with a mission of no child sleeping on the floor. Experts from Sleep in Heavenly Peace will assist you in building and assembling bunk beds from scratch. The beds will later be delivered to children in the greater Syracuse area currently sleeping on the floor.

There are two build shifts, along with set up and tear down shifts. Students may only sign up for one of the following shifts:

Set Up Team: 9:30 am to 11:00 am
Build Session One: 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
Build Session Two: 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Tear Down and Load Team: 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm

Honors students who participate can earn civic hours and list Claire Ceccoli and shawcenter@syr.edu as the supervisors to complete the documentation needed. Sign up for a session with this link or join SUVO on ‘Cuse Activities for more information on this and future events.

Please know that this is not a Renée Crown University Honors Program event, but we support this campus-wide opportunity.
