Opportunity to Mentor Local Youth

The New York State Mentoring program connects college students with local youth in the Syracuse schools. The program’s mission is to create positive and supportive one-to-one relationships with mentors to prevent students from dropping out of school. If you’d like to become a mentor or learn more about the program, call 1.844.337.6304 or visit  The New York State Mentoring Program website. Once your mentoring application is received, an appointment will be made for you to interview with a program director. Once you are trained, you will be matched with a mentee at a nearby school and a start date will be provided. To read about Syracuse athletes who participate as mentors, see this news story here.
