C.A.R.E. Spring 2021
Register now for Spring 2021 C.A.R.E. Circles
March 8th-April 16th (six sessions, two hours each)
C.A.R.E. is both a personal and professional development opportunity that requires a commitment to self-reflection and forward-thinking. As each week builds on the next, the goal is to embrace our ability to make change as we explore our racial identities, understand our role in marginalization, critically identify social systems of oppression, and carry voice into action. C.A.R.E. is not a lecture series. It is a space for dialogue and open conversation. Understand, it’s okay if we don’t have all the answers, but we all bring unique experiences, and the expectation is full participation with other participants, the facilitators, and the circle materials. Being uncomfortable in these kinds of spaces is inevitable. The question is: will you step up to the challenge?
- Attend all 6 circle sessions
- Actively listen and participate in circle dialogue
- Complete all weekly reading(s) and activities
- Submit all critical reflection writing prompts
- Responsibility of presence in space, including verbal and non-verbal actions
IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT ABSENCE FROM ONE CIRCLE SESSION WILL POTENTIALLY RESULT IN THE PARTICIPANT’S REMOVAL FROM C.A.R.E.
ALL SESSIONS ARE HELD VIRTUALLY
Participant Testimonial:
“This was one of the most comprehensive and effective trainings that I’ve ever participated in regarding race, diversity, inclusion, and equity (and I’ve participated in many). This training didn’t just scratch the surface, as many other trainings do. This training forced us, as participants, to be uncomfortable at times, which is necessary when discussing these topics.”
