Rise Above

Rise Above Poverty is a donation based non profit organization that assists students living in poverty.   Their mission is to collect and distribute toiletries and apparel for students at Danforth Middle School which is in the Syracuse City School District.

They have two volunteer opportunities that could help add to your professional portfolio!

*Seeking a student volunteer to research and create a new brochure with statistics on poverty and homelessness. This student would collaborate with a member of Rise Above Poverty for guidelines and then submit ideas/drafts until a final product is reached. The student would keep track of their hours and we would recognize them.

*Seeking student volunteers to help with “Slam Dunk Poverty-Meet n Greet” Saturday, March 30, from 1:30pm to 3:30pm (all or part of the time).  Tasks we need help with include taking pictures, managing the live stream, over seeing registration and sign in, serving food, and more.
