Empathy Matters
Empathy Matters focuses on fostering empathy and leadership among second grade students. Each student is paired with a college mentor for the semester, and throughout the program, team-building exercises and individual projects create a lasting bond. The program focuses on activities that build kindness, confidence, leadership, self-awareness and the awareness of others. Empathy Matters will begin Friday, October 19. Held at HW Smith School. Crochet, Knit and Conversation
De-stress, have meaningful conversations, and make new friends– all while learning how to crochet . Knitters are welcomed to join in. The program runs every Friday during the academic year from 11:45am-12:45pm in the Chaplain’s Lounge, lower level of Hendricks Chapel. No experience is necessary and everyone is welcome to join in! There will be a crochet instructor on hand. If anyone is interested in joining the group and would like to teach knitting, I welcome you. All materials are provided. United Methodist Church Food Pantry
Friday Food Pantry- Welcome, support and facilitate access to Food Pantry items for our community. Unload our food truck, sort & stage foods. Hospitality area with snacks and coffee and clothing closet each need facilitating. Support CNY Diaper bank access for families. Make food delivery to Hendricks Chapel Food Pantry. Support voter registration and enrollment into Pro Literacy campaign. Spanish speaking/multi-lingual volunteers especially needed. 3.5 hr. volunteer opportunity

Community Breakfast- 10/14/2018, 8:30-10:30am. Fellowship Hall & Kitchen, basement. Join in our efforts to prepare, serve and clean up a hot, homemade, fabulous breakfast with guests, friends, congregation and neighbors. Clean up volunteers especially needed at 9:40am. 2 hr. volunteer opportunity
