First Time Tutor
Berenice Moog (AS, ’20) had her first volunteer experience ever last Spring. She tutored kids in grades K-8 at the Boys and Girls Club, helping with their homework and assisting with other activities at the center, such as Newspaper Club, Smart Girls, and Painting Club.
Overall the experience was a positive one: she loved it! “I felt that I was using my time effectively and really making a difference in these kids’ lives (however corny that may sound). This experience has made it clear to me that civic engagement means giving back to your community in a meaningful and impactful way, and I will look for that same kind of impact in subsequent civic engagement experiences.”
