La Casita

Luke Chadwick (AS, ’18) worked with La Casita Cultural Center in Syracuse. La Casita is a program of the College of Arts and Sciences established to advance an educational and cultural agenda of civic engagement through research, cultural heritage preservation, media, and the arts, bridging the Hispanic communities of Syracuse University and Central New York.  Luke assisted in their social media campaign, helping with translations, and participating in exhibit research and installation.

Luke’s experience working at La Casita helped him feel more engaged with the Hispanic community in Syracuse. It was also a great opportunity to practice his Spanish. He also learned that he enjoys working in a quasi-museum setting wherein he can gain experience in a variety of areas.
