Maggie Byrne was born and raised in the faraway land of Syracuse, NY. The daughter of a SUNY ESF alumna and a Syracuse University employee, Maggie fully expected to go to SU to earn her Bachelor’s degree in journalism. After a visit to Notre Dame, however, Maggie quickly fell in love with the campus and culture of The Fighting’ Irish and decided to trade in her Orange for Gold and Blue. She spent her four years at Notre Dame studying Theology, exploring the Midwest and pretending to pay attention at football games.
As fate would have it, she ended up at SU anyway, working as a Campus Minister at the Alibrandi Catholic Center from 2011-2017. During that time, Maggie not only developed a talent for organizing people and information, but also discovered a love for working with college students. She is excited to serve the University in a new capacity and to join the incredible faculty and staff at the Honors Program.
In her spare time, Maggie loves to be outside. She loves hiking, running, biking and swimming and is usually training for a triathlon or half marathon. To counteract all of that activity, she is an avid baker who specializes in snickerdoodle blondies and banana bread.
